Simon Crowther is a civil engineer, entrepreneur and founder of the FPS Group®. Better known to many as The Flood Guy®, he is a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager, Fellow of CIWEM, engineering advisor and advocate for resilience, engineering and the built environment.

Simon Crowther is a civil engineer, entrepreneur and founder of the FPS Group®, a group of companies operating across engineering consultancy, flood resilience and specialist water-management products.
His interest in resilience began after his family home flooded in 2007, an experience that would ultimately shape his career. He later represented the UK at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize before studying Civil Engineering at the University of Nottingham.
Today, Simon works at the intersection of engineering, entrepreneurship and advocacy. He is a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager, Fellow of CIWEM, founding member of the International Property Flood Resilience Association (IPFRA), DEFRA Property Flood Resilience Roundtable member, and a contributing author for Elite Business Magazine.
Named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2018, Simon is a regular commentator on flooding, resilience and climate adaptation, with appearances on BBC, Sky News, ITV and Channel 4. His work has taken him from construction sites and flood investigations to Parliament, Downing Street and national conferences.
